Meghadootam
Meghadūta is a celebrated Sanskrit lyric poem by Kālidāsa. It tells of an exiled yakṣa who sends a cloud as messenger to his distant beloved in Alakā. The poem is renowned for its emotional delicacy, geographical imagination, nature imagery, and elegant poetic style. Divided into two parts, it transforms longing, memory, landscape, and love into one of the finest examples of classical Sanskrit kāvya.
